Thinking of renovating? Even if you’re only just starting the design process, you should consider getting a 3D rendering of your space. Renovations are costly and its best to have a clear understanding of how your space will look once it’s completed so there are no surprises.

What is a rendering?

A rendering is a three-dimensional visual representation of a space. Renderings incorporate all of your concept ideas and finishes into a drawing that is easy to interpret. Renderings are drawn to scale and will give you a clear picture of what to expect. Drawings can easily be manipulated to explore multiple options without the financial commitment. Renderings can also prevent costly miscommunication errors.

How is a rendering different from a floor plan?

Floor plans are drawn in 2D. They are great for showing layouts, but it’s often difficult for people to visualize how that drawing will translate to real life.

What do we need to get started?

The best place to start is with an architectural floor plan drawing. Floor plans provide us with the exact locations of walls, windows and doors etc. That being said, if you don’t have any drawings done we are able to come to site and take measurements of your space. If concept drawings are required we can work with you on a couple different layouts prior to starting the 3D model. We also require a material list – whether you have a collection of inspiration images and/or samples, we will work with you to accurately show you what your design will look like as best as possible. The more information you provide us with the better!

What will it cost?

Like any project, prices do vary. Cost depends on the size of the space and how much detail you want to see. Renderings typically only cost $300 – $500 each. Higher quality (photo realistic) renderings can cost around $1000 – $1500 each. Additional costs may be required for a site measure, concept floor plan(s) and/or revisions.

Renderings help you fine tune your vision and give you the confidence you need to move forward. It will reduce the number of costly onsite changes and serves as a great tool to communicate your vision with other trades. Contact a Weaver Design representative today to get a free estimate!
