The main floor of this charming Midcentury Modern-style home underwent a stunning transformation and was such a fun project to work on! The loveliest couple purchased this home in the spring of 2023 with the intension of renovating the entire main floor. Every year we see new design trends coming out. Although it can be tempting to incorporate all of the latest trends into your home, not all design trends are worth the splurge or even practical. Don’t be afraid to mix different metals. Choose a metal you love and make it the dominant metal in your home, then select one or two other metals to use as accents. The key is to make sure that there is contrast between the metals you choose. Show design intent by keeping the function and metal consistent (ie. keep all plumbing fixtures the same metal).

Use the correct size area rug. An undersized rug can instantly cheapen the look of a space. The front legs of all your furniture should be sitting on the area rug. If using under a dining room set, make sure the chairs still fit on the area rug when they are pulled out.

ABOUT THE PROJECT This two-story home situated near a manmade lake was renovated from head-to-toe with a beachy vibe in mind. This home received all-new millwork, lighting, paint, and flooring. Both the office and laundry room received new built-in cabinets to maximize storage space. Luxury vinyl flooring was installed throughout for easy maintenance while still brining in those natural “wood” coastal elements. The ensuite bathroom was updated to receive a larger walk-in shower with a freestanding soaker tub for the perfect spa retreat. We can almost feel the sand in our toes just thinking about it!
